Okay you guys. I have to tell you about a fabulous new young adult book series. It's called "In The After," by Demitria Lunetta. It was so DANGED good that I literally couldn't stop reading it...I stayed up the entire night reading the blasted thing it was so good. Like "Divergent" the novel is also about a dystopian society. But it's completely different from Divergent and in some ways even better. The heroine of the story is a girl named Amy. She tells the entire story in first person. Amy is a survivor of an alien holocaust. But the truth is entirely different from what Amy believes. You'll be shocked at the ending. This book is the first of a series. Here's what Amazon says:
In debut author Demitria Lunetta's heart-pounding thriller, on…Read more >
“Grasshopper Jungle” is two for one. On one level, it is a darkly comic story about the end of the world. The book’s narrator and protagonist — 16-year-old Austin Szerba, of the fictional town of Ealing, Iowa — accidentally unleashes an infestation of six-foot-tall praying mantises, products of a scientific experiment gone kookily awry. These HUGE insects are practically indestructible and only desire two things: ONE: Procreate; TWO: Eat anything in sight.
On another level, “Grasshopper Jungle” is a novel about adolescence. Like most teenage boys, Austin fairly vibrates with pubescent energy and blunderbuss desires; still a virgin, he fantasizes endlessly about sex.
I've NEVER read a book even remotely like this one. But it's extremely good …Read more >
Free Four is a short story by the original author of DIVERGENT. I's a very short story and it begins with Four and his feelings when he first met Beatrice. It's been posted ALL over the internet. That's where I read it from.
FREE FOUR by Veronica Roth
I wouldn’t have volunteered to train the initiates if not for the smell of the training room— the scent of dust and sweat and sharpened metal. This was the first place I ever felt strong. Every time I breathe this air I feel it again.
At one end of the room is a slab of wood with a target painted on it. Against one wall is a table covered with throwing knives—ugly metal instruments with a hole at one end, perfect for inexperienced initiates. Lined up across from me are the faction transfers, who…

To everybody's who's finished DIVERGENT, I wanted to suggest a new young adult fictional series. It's called PARTIALS and I enjoyed reading it as much as I have DIVERGENT. It is a touch on the science-fiction side...but the story is awesome.
The first book, PARTIALS is told by a 16 year old girl named, Kira. In the future, scientist created artificial humans...that they called Partials. They used the Partials as military fighters...to fight in wars. The Partials are mostly men (the fighters) but there are also some women. Most Partials look like they're 18 years old, but they don't age. When the wars were over...the Partials were treated as unwanted by the government. Close to how the Factionless were treated in DIVERGENT. Eventually, the P…

Whoever created this Wiki really did a great job. I like the designs and background. It really serves its purpose as the Divergent Wiki. But, WARNING: There are spoilers here. I haven't read the last book...but after reading on this Wiki, I now know the biggest spoiler of all. But...I'm gonna read the last book anyway. I loved this series.Read more >
